What is Rush?
Rush is a period for anyone interested in Delta Sigma Iota to meet the brothers of this fraternity. We throw a variety of events, in hopes of providing you an opportunity to get to know us better and to learn more about the fraternity. There is absolutely no obligation in rushing. Rush merely provides a comfortable means through which students who are interested in our fraternity can ask questions and interact with the brothers while having fun at the same time. It also allows us to show the public how Delta Sigma Iota remains active in the community and in pursuit of the goals our fraternity was founded upon.
Does Rush cost anything?
Rush is absolutely free. All events have been paid for by various fundraisers and events we hold throughout the year.
Should I attend all Rush events?
The purpose of the Rush events are for you to learn about the fraternity and for our brothers to learn about you. While technically you are only required to attend one info session, one open event, and the interview. It would be beneficial all the events you can as it will give our brothers a chance to get to know you better.
Will joining a fraternity effect my grades?
Fraternity life should in no way hurt your grades; in fact, in many ways it can help. One of the pillars of Delta Sigma Iota is Education. The fraternity is an incredibly valuable academic resource for its brothers, as brothers are often able to help each other with their classes. We also hold mandatory weekly study hours for BOTH our brothers and our pledges and require a minimum GPA for brothers to hold office and even remain active.
Why DSI?
Delta Sigma Iota is not your typical fraternity. We pride ourselves in following our three pillars: service, unity, and education. We are a fraternity with a purpose. Our brothers are highly motivated and driven. We value the knowledge and skills that we learn in college. We embrace and understand our culture and heritage. We seek to make a difference in the world today as we prepare ourselves to become the leaders of tomorrow. Additionally, Delta Sigma Iota provides a strong support network of brothers that spans four schools and various regions, which can be extremely beneficial socially, academically, and in the workplace.
